Ta-Nehisi Coates, a national correspondent for The Atlantic and a nonfiction National Book Award nominee, will be the new scribe for Marvel’s Black Panther comic series starting in the spring. After receiving high praise for his book “Between the World and Me,” a letter to his son on being black in America, some may think Coates’ move to comics is an odd choice. I expect to be doing the same thing for Marvel.”
